Get ready to learn the art of tease! I am happy to announce 3 different summer workshops for Zaandam:
- Sunday, 7th June - "Seduce them with Your Eyes"
Facial expressions, especially eye contact, is the ultimate instrument in burlesque. We will play in this class with how to present true confidence, how to appear seductive, cutesy, silly or absent, how to communicate with just facial expressions.
- Sunday, 5th July - "Cheeky 60's Bump 'n Grind"
The iconic style of moving hips and chests to rhythm true vintage burlesque way. The days of cutesy pin-up style from the 40's are behind, and the stages taken over by a new style - Bump 'n Grind - the older, bolder, and wilder sister of pin up. This class is wild cat themed, so if you ever wanted to wear leopard print, this is the moment.
- Sunday, 16th August - "Pose like a showgirl"
Placements for arms, legs, hips, shoulders and profiles - examining what makes the beautiful lines we recognise from the vintage photography, showgirl aesthetics and how to apply that on yourself. We will play around with different principles how you can add drama, cuteness, and other flavours to your posing. What you learn can be used for burlesque, pin-up, modelling, or just everyday sass.
In each class, we will be learning the foundations of burlesque through different playful techniques, building your confidence, and exploring different flavours of tease and elegance. We finish each class with a short on-theme choreography, putting all we learned into practice.
You are welcome to join individual classes, or if you want to participate in them all, I would suggest signing up for the package deal (available till 6th June)!
This class is open level: first timers as well as burlesque enthusiasts are equally welcome.

ADDITIONAL INFO:
Time: all workshops 14:00-15:30 (new start time)
Place: East Side Dance Studio
Oostzijde 381 Atelier, A3 10, 1508 EP Zaandam
Age limit: everyone older than 18 years old is welcome. There is no upper limit.
Language: The workshop is in English.
Arrival: Please arrive 10 minutes before the workshop, so you have enough time to change clothes and settle in.
Entrance: The front door is always locked. The workshop assistant will open it just before class and close it again just after.
Parking: Free parking is available on the street. Guests (both cars and bicycles) are asked to park in the two parking spaces at Hellema (within the yellow and white gates).
WHAT TO WEAR & BRING:
Clothes: Wear clothes that allow movement, for example: shorts + top or bodysuit is recommended.
Footwear: Indoor heels or just socks are equally welcome. Please make sure that your footwear is clean and does not leave marks on the floor.
What else you would need to bring: You might want to bring a water bottle and notepad. No special props needed for the summer workshops.
CANCELLATION POLICY:
Min/max participants: 5/15
Event Cancellation: If the minimum number of participants isn't met by 48 h before the class, the organizer reserves the right to cancel or reschedule the class. In this case, all registrations will be fully refunded.
If you need to cancel: Cancellations made more than 48 hours before the event are eligible for a 75% refund. Unfortunately, refunds are not possible for cancellations made less than 48 hours in advance.
